New digital procurement platform strengthens City of Richmond’s purchasing efforts
The City of Richmond is now using the bids&tenders digital procurement platform to help purchasing staff meet increasing demands for accountability, improved service delivery and cost efficiency. All procurement opportunities for the City will now be posted and managed online, in one centralized location.
With the new procurement portal, the City can develop web-based purchasing team dashboards so all internal stakeholders have online access to opportunity postings, bid management, evaluations, contracts, and supplier databases. At bid close, bids&tenders will automatically generate a bid comparison report, as well as store and manage all necessary documentation, eliminating the need for spreadsheet tracking. The system automates administrative tasks and enhances transparency in contract decisions. The City believes this automated, digital solution to procurement will improve its ability to manage future projects while providing value for the public.
Suppliers interested in doing business with the City of Richmond are invited to register for a supplier account through the bids&tenders portal. Responses to requests for quotations (RFQ), requests for proposals (RFP) and requests for tenders (RFT) must now be submitted electronically through the platform. Award and regret letters are automatically sent out at bid close.
